hey ! I´m happy to see that you use the translucency shader too. most people uses mental ray. nice to see your settings. I have a question. which map do you use for backscatter color...and which for the transparent-setting?
    great work!
and how do you get the "cm" in the shader stting display?

    Thumbs up

Holy Moly! It's like the "real" Spock who was later portrayed by the actor Leonard Nimoy.

This is one of the most realistic renders I've seen. Someone mentioned turning down the specularity, I think that's wrong! Most of the renders don't look real enough because they don't have the "layer of oil" that the skin naturally produces. They usually look more like dry wax or latex than skin.

    Excellent stuff!!!
ITS is a possessive pronoun its color, its shape, its size
IT'S is a contraction of the words IT and IS It's nice = it is nice, It's fun = it is fun

YOUR is a possessive pronoun Your face, your car, your thoughts
YOU'RE is a contraction of the words YOU and ARE you're wrong = you are wrong, you're nice = you are nice

Usually when you type IT'S, you really mean ITS
and when you type YOUR, you really mean YOU'RE.

hey guys , sorry for the late reply.

@ pitchepuck, thanks , I use just a simple noise map on the refraction and the SSS Map on the translucency backside color. For the "cm" is best to build your model on real proportions and then do a few tests, till you get to the right value.

@ Pigumon, Thanks , i'm glad you like it and that we agree on the skin shader .

    Cheers !

    Default zArmor

    Hey Guys !

This is my latest personal work. I've tried to build some kind of SF police armor, working with just Zbrush and PS, and studying the new great hard surface tools in Zbrush.
I've started with a very simple base mesh done in 3ds max, and built the concept with Z and PS, and then modeled all in ZBrush. The renders ware also done just with Z and then composited in PS.
