Sid Ahearne's Sketchbook

Image done for a dear friend’s daughter, this is a less detailed version, the original had a Circus backdrop and a sheet over the elephant’s back with the little girl’s name on it. Done in Zbrush with BPR render and Photoshop touch ups
Cheers to All.

Thank you for your comments.

Image done a few months ago, before I tried out sss rendering in ZBrush, will probably give it another go(with sss)sometime soon, but for now , hope some of you like it.

T. rex ancestor, measured about 6 feet (180 centimeters) long--tail included--the 215-million-year-old Tawa hallae fossil was found in New Mexico in recent years. Cheers

I clicked to see the dinosaur (great!), but now I am totally loving the elephant piece!!

I think it’s one of the cutest pieces I’ve ever done…hehe
I’m glad you liked it.

Here’s a turntable for the Tawa Hallae.

really nice job. So do you believe that Dinosaurs were actually undeveloped birds?

Very beautiful dino!

it looks gorgeous. modeling, texturing done beautifully. did u have any reference, like and artists rendition or something for it?

These were the images I used for reference, the gorgeous illustrations by Jorge Gonzalez were the main inspiration, but I had to do my own version of it, so I gave it larger feathers and less in number(limited by hardware), the skin was painted by hand, no photos used to texture, just wanted to keep it around the browns, again influenced by Jorge Gonzalez. Thank you all for the comments aswell and keep ZBrushing…

Pirate character designed for Lightning Box Games, I wanted to have all the typical pirate elements, ended up leaving out the eye patch, having the blind eye showing
turned out better I thought. Basemesh done in Softimage, sculpt, texture and UVs in Zbrush and final comp in Photoshop. Cheers to All!

Love everthing about this Character. For me, has just the right amount of detail, not under done nor over done. Great Work!

Awesome sculpting man! He has a ton of personality, and it’s cool that it was rendered in Zbrush.

It looks like there’s some small artifacting going on around his right (our left) leg. Probably anti-aliasing issue, or maybe a problem with using the mask to cut out his background and put an image in? Not sure. Obviously not a big deal though

love it

could you share WIP images (basemesh details, sculpting brushes used, etc;)?

Really digging this,
Thanks for sharing
