    Default Nemes1S's Stuff.

Soo welcome to my new topic.
I would like to say that this is not a "show-off projects" topic, but a "give me some tips and tell me where I am mistaken" topic.
    ---
A few days ago I figured out that I need a lot of practicing on the human face [this topic will not be based on sketches and human faces, some worthy projects coming as soon as I'll get to know the stuff I need to know ] . So, with that, today I spent about 40-50 minutes on the guy you'll see down below.
I don't have any knowledge in human face topology, I didn't studied painting etc. -- so every comment will be very helpful.
So, please, tell me where are the points of interest and how should I do things to get a better result. At least, I hope I followed the proportions and will follow them in my future sketches.
    Let's get started.
Thanks in advance to all those who will comment, give tips and sit in judgement.

Well, I would start with these points that you acknowledge,

"I don't have any knowledge in human face topology, I didn't studied painting etc."

and I recommend you study facial anatomy starting from the skull to muscles to skin. It all builds up on the layer below it.

The head at the moment looks to be a block with facial features on one side, at least to my eyes.

Google, Youtube, etc places are full of images, tutorials and search the forums too. Material is plentiful, all you need to do is few searches.

Search for Anatomy, Zbrush and you should have more than enough material to work with.

I am in no way an expert on human anatomy, but yours is way off in almost every way. I say buy an anatomy book, study it, and keep in mind that the web of muscles under the skin of the face has little to do with the overall appearance on the human face (both male and female).
Bone structure and fat are the two main factors that determine differences in appearance from one face to another.

Focus on proportions and basic planes of a face, and you will improve your sculpts sooner than you might think.

    Good luck

So it has been a while so I come with some new works
First one is a base mesh for my project I will be working on these days, I won't tell what it will be, so in case I fail I will better avoid a bit of the shame [ I didn't work on the hand , so just ignore it ]
Second one is just a dude that's dancing, he has to have some daggers between his fingers, but it's no way important right now than the finish of posing and the mesh at all...
So, comment, criticize, laugh and cry! have fun

Best advice I can give is to get some good anatomy reference. I have an actual anatomy book (yes a real book) and a library of images on my spare laptop. I find if I have my book open near me I can reference it easier while working on my computer. Other wise I have my spare laptop with my image library open or the internet open to search images as I need them.

I had a lot of problems with anatomy starting in 3d with my model trojan.
    http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=81649
If you have a look the muscles are messy and its streched in places. This was my first model in 3D ever so I see it as a massive reminder that I need to keep studying anatomy. The main thing is to understand it, where muscles go and where bones stick out and tendons stretching in the joints.

At the end of the day theres nothing any one here can teach you. It just come down to spending a lot of time researching and questioning until it starts to make sense.

"We memorize things so we can forget about them".

    All the best.

Hiporu, your books are just awesome. Drawing the head and the hands book helped me a lot keeping them proportional and at least as real as I could.
A new update, I'm finished with the body, tried to keep in the best way.. will start now modeling the costume of my hero [ actually it's not mine I'm just too superstitious to tell you what it will be ]
So... take care) and thanx to all those who watch my thread.

So I spared some hours with the suit... I was modeling and then just realized that at that point of the model it would be nice to hear some c&c for it, so I don't go way crazy from reality
My first kind of metallic suit, so I ain't that creative on this stuff at the moment. In addition I must say that I was really inspired by Eat 3D's DVD on Hard Surfaces...
So... anyone who's willing to comment on this is bad boy is welcome !
    Take care!
P.S. This is a CONCEPT, not the final mesh! The final mesh, of course, will be made based on this stuff - so some areas can be modified and not that similiar to what you see now!

I spared some hours with this suit.. Would be nice to hear some critics on that.. Maybe it'll seem a little blocky, but when I'll finish the detailing proces, which will be at the end, I'll divide the mesh one more time and decimate it. It's just the torso, I hope I'll work in this tempo and will finish the modeling soon.
    Take care
