Post Isle of the Dead Challenge

DIE TOTENINSEL - THE ISLE OF THE DEAD - L'ILE DES MORTS
LA ISLA DE LOS MUERTOS - L'ISOLA DEI MORTI - OSTROV MJERTVICH'
    WYSPA UMARLYCH - HALOTTAK SZIGETE

Few are the images that have inspired so many artists through the times... Arnold BOCKLIN's painting The Isle of the Dead has fascinated hundreds of artists, who gave it a tribute by painting (but not only... as you may discover) under it's influence.

What we propose here is that anyone who is interested may give his or her own interpretation of the Isle, using our beloved software, Zbrush.

No urge, no time limit, no rules, only fun, learning and discovering.

You'll find usefull information looking at a dedicated website TOTENINSEL. There you'll find all the references you might need.
And to know more about this amazing artist :

Feel free to post any related link, comment or image.

Challenge idea : Frenchy Pilou, vincentducos, and with kind consideration from Mahlikus The Black.
Featured images by Arnold Bocklin, Philippe Druillet, Pierre Peyrolle ,Markus Schwarz, Sergio Michilini, Hermann Rüdisühli,Dian Lenkovic, Milo Manara, Hikaru.

Nice first entry. Hope I'll see the full image, it's a very good start.
I am trying to get to understand the symbolic meaning of the isle, it's amazing, it just seems to speak directly to the inconscious...

    Hi everyone...
I have little time to spend over this right now. But anything I do with Z actually is to try and try to get close to this IOTD theme.
I decided I would post my worst attempts (well, i kept the worst for myself, this is the worst i dare to share) as a way to deshinibate some newbies

    Let's forget this one quickly...
Then I got something more... more.

Has something, but so far from a little good...
And the last, but not least, the reverse-inside-out IOTD :

I find this one more interesting... Not technically achieved, but adds something new to the theme.

    Now, cheers all !
(and sorry for trusting the thumbs with these)
