    Thanks.
Another angle render to see if there is a problem with the ears.

She has become in a gothic doll.
I have to say with a big shame for my part that the hair is composed in Photoshop.(Not the eyelashes or the eyebrows)

theres a weird highlight in the inner eye, as well as a plastic cold feel to the skin. I love the idea, its just there isn't a lot of life to the character

    Thumbs up Experience...

Hmm, perception of art is many things.
I would argue that the absence of action is not necessarily dull.
I think your "gothic doll" has a lot of "life" David, but maybe because I bring my own experience into the picture.

Like Mona Lisa, this character has some enigmatic radiance, some secresy I as a spectator feel drawn towards. I'ts pretty cool

So my 5 cents is that the action is in her precense, reading her facial expression and trying to form an opinion about her history.

I'm thrilled that not all character art in the forums are action overdosed with nothing is left to the imagination.

@peter I think you're misinterpreting what I mean, I'm not saying that there isn't action in the piece. I just got editor's choice on cghub for a piece that had no action what so ever, a simple portrait of a man and a cat.

What I'm talking about here is the impact of the piece. There's something alien in her face, like the corner of her lips the way they just lay there, or the eyes how they lack depth. I think your facial anatomy needs some adjusting IMO. The idea is solid I've stated that before, but if you want to really push this piece I think you need to take yourself out of it and really analyze it. like ask yourself why does it appear that the specularity of the skin is the same over the entire face and body. Is there a spec map? is it pushed enough. Is there a subdermal map? is it warm enough. Is there a way of achieving a make up look by utilizing the diffuse layer as the shader was designed to do?

These questions will help you push this piece into a great place.

right now focus on bringing that mouth to a place that its believable. the nose is solid as are the shape of the eyes, though that part of flesh where they meet the nose is doing something weird.

The hair is by far the best part of this piece. I love the style. As is the detailing of the clothing. I just think visually you have these two elements that work really well, but then the face you assume to meet the quality and when it doesn't you are left kind of cold.

also you could probably do a little more than just a gradient for the background. Just a thought.

    Best of luck

@Framedworld: If that was what you meant, then I understand what you mean by life. Your technical experience is more extended, but I was looking at it subjectively.

-Hope David does not bring too much life to the goth
