Wink Tomatoes...and the fruit of their labors!

Something I was just playing around with the past couple of days. This is a combination of a couple of programs. I did the tomatoes and the bottle in ZBrush, while the rest of the image was done with XaraX. So, I guess it's a hybrid. Just wanted an illustration type feel to it. Ok, ok, so I don't have a clue where this came from or where I was going with it. It just kind of happened. Hope you enjoy it anyway. Comments and critiques always welcome.

    Thanks,
    Dave

    Eugh! squashy tomatoes.
Nicely modelled though Dave and a impressive, yet bizzare image.

    Cool

like with so many things i dont know nada about xarax, but it sure looks like a great combo, Dave! one thing that came to my mind was, that possibly it would look even better without all four of its rectangular sides being broken/transgressed, just two or three of them might do. i assume you have tried a (tomato)red monocolor, so i wont suggest that

Thanks for the feedback and comments. Good point Juandel. I think I will try and bring the lettering inside the boundaries of the rectangle so that only the squish is external.

Original idea... and a very original style.

I can't quite make my mind up whether the front tomato has been mortally wounded or has just been sick at the prospect of what is in store for him and his kin! I prefer to think the former, but suspect the latter. Either way, I like this a lot, both conceptually and in the execution, especially the subtle use of the almost totally desaturated colours.

Thanks for all of the comments. I did an update as suggested by Juandel. Thanks, I like it that just the one section of the frame is broken basically. Let me know what you think of the change.

What I like most about this pix is the quietness of the scene. then you see the "tomatoe stuff"

Great concept, wonderful execution. Really like the desaturated colors.

It's inspirational in a Gary Larsen kinda way.
