Starting working on this little fellow a few minutes ago. I'm aiming for something between cartoony and realistic. I am currently still in doubt whether I would make him look angry with a scepter in his hand or to make him look amazed with a torch in his hand while looking at cavepaintings
. Plz let me know which idea is best. I wil first just focus on character so you have time to decide.

@TheCelt: I used a translucent material in Keyshot2. The red is the transmission colour (blood) you see it in thin places where light shines through the model. I don't know where the green comes from. It seems to appear at the tips of the spikes. I didn't pick that colour in the material settings.
But I thought it was cool so I left it like that.
With these settings there seems to appear even brighter green. See that I didn't pick any green colour?:
