    Post Bite Da Bullit......

    Hi all,

I`ve been up to my eyes in it this week so I took time out this evening to play with ZBrush and PS. And now I`m tired.

Please feel free to 1-2-1 this little dribble of art. I will of course take on board all or any comments and try to spend the rest of the month improving the image and my skills along with it. Or then again, I might just go to bed and forget that I even drew it.

    Night all....

3:15pm EST would be .. let's see, 11:30pm on a Sunday night in England. Fair enough. Go to bed!
Just curious about the monster in this picture. Hairy face, googly eyes, twisted and distorted features. And as for the guy with the bullet in his mouth ! ...

Good stuff Southern. I still think you should do a childrens book. Maybe one about monsters that lives under kiddies beds would be more your style!

Yet another ey-catcher, Southern. I don't know how you can whip these things out.

Ya might want to deform the upper lip a little more around the bullet, so it looks like it's sticking out between the lips, rather than straight out of the upperlip. Still, another awesome pic, as usual for you.

By the way, who IS the scary guy in the background?

What I really like about this sick, twisted image is the skull/bone/horn structures pushing through the skin. However, here's a bit of 1-2-1... the black bullet hole suggests a hollow head (or the void of evil). Unless that's what you're going for. Even if the bullet passed all the way through, you would see more of a tunnel...consisting of flesh, muscle, bone, brain matter, butter... oops, sorry... I haven't had breakfast, yet.

BTW, you're just too damn prolific.

Thanks for your constant stream of images.

This image is made even more Southern Whimsical by the Artist's (you?) face in the background with his engimious (sp) smile. A real Southern Maddona.

    Question

Hey, Southern, I really liked the way you previously gave a little info about the pics you were doing, such as the size, etc. How large was this pic when you did it?

    Exclamation

    WAHOOOOO.....

Back from the day job and straight onto the PC. It`s getting far too addictive again.

The ugly mug is me, the demon is also me as I model with a mirror. Not joking. When I pencil sketch cartoons I use a mirror to get expressions. Turn symmetry off occasionally and you can deform your head models to match your own mirrored expression.

The bite the bullet idea came from one of you lot saying I should bite the bullet and leave the day job in favour of a digital art career.

This image was 3000x3000 with 1 head model and two eyes (and a cylinder and a sphere for the bullet)

I made the model for an upcoming magazine article and for this image deformed it to get the demon. ps.I like demons, this is about the 10th I have created. I don`t know why.

The 121 is useful. Although this was a bit of fun I am always learning. There is no shadow on this one as I forgot to turn them on. Never mind. And...If you want brains and bone I can do that.....

I think we need a gallery around here.

    See you all later,

    S
