    Default Daily Zbrush Sculpts

    Hey guys and gals,

Before school starts up again I figured I'd work on something in my last week.

Really inspired with James VanDenBogart's new stuff. I made this yesterday and set up the scene last night.

My question is should I continue with this? I have an mr sss on it just to make it look interesting, so I would continue making texture maps in zbrush or mudbox. Or should I go with my original plan and continue making a head sculpt a day?

Ask the question should you continue to yourself. You'll know the answer, don't worry.

You will get a lot more out of spending the time to make finished pieces. A sculpt a day is fun and you will learn a lot from it but this should only be done as practice to maybe test some new styles or methods.

My advise is to just take your time and see a project through to finished product. The real question you should be asking yourself is "Do I enjoy the topic I chose to pursue?". If not then its hard to be modivated. If you are learning and not working for a client just pick something that really interests you. I spend a lot of time trying to decide what to do for personal projects.

cherub - Yeah I asked the question :P. Plus I already named the title of the thread Daily Zbrush Sculpts soo gotta try and live up to that.

Soulty - I definitely want to do this as practice. I'm trying to get faster in zbrush. But I also do love the final product. Maybe the next few will not have as much post and should just be zbrush renders? Ienjoy the topic I'm pursueing but I do also love lighting... that's another reason why I like to bring these pieces a bit further. Thanks for the guidance.

Here's my latest one. A little late.. probably tonight I won't spend as much time on the new one. I'm happy with what I have but I did learn the value of saving. I was retopoing this and zbrush crashed.. stupid me didn't save at all so I said screw it and just uvMaster'd it and hoped for the best. Poseing it screwed a few things up but I'm ok with the result. Though future stuff I'll always need to retopo and SAVE. (face palm)

It's a cross inspiration from the Blue Alien in 5th Element and Cezar Brandao's work. Hope you enjoy.

For this piece I was inspired by Schell and a Krogan from Mass Effect.

I like where this piece was going. I was able to retopo just fine, and could possibly take it further but really these are just quick studies.. anywhere from 2-4 hours. This one didn't take so much time as much as I was stabbing in the dark, and didn't really have a clear vision as to where I wanted to take it.

Something got screwed up in the very beginning so bringing it to Maya was a headache so instead of problem solving until my hearts content I just did some renders within zbrush.

    Enjoy
