    Default Polygonpusher's sketchbook

    Hello Zbrushers,

One of my New Year's resolution was not to work for anymore game studios that do sports titles which usually means spending a lot of time sculpting clothing items. So I've decided to improve on my knowledge and abilities starting with this sketchbook and dragon. It's my first fantasy creature and boy did it feel good to do and I learned so much. I definitely hope to improve as the sketchbook progresses so thanks for looking and critiques most welcome. Now go and practice, practice, practice.

    Image stats:

sculpting done in zbrush of course
most of the texturing done with polypaint
rendered in XSI with mental ray.

Wow nice dragon polygonpusher, good job!

The shape and length of the body's very sleek, I like it. It would be great if it was set atop a very large tree or branch scoping the area for prey and larger creatures instead of the ground IMO.

d_thumb : Thanks for the compliment and I'm really sorry for the late response. Just been really busy. I totally agree with you and it looks clumbsy on the ground. My initial idea was to set the dragon atop a rocky cliff protecting her nest but I realized it would take more time then I wanted to spend so yeah it was my way of cheating . Thanks again and I'll keep your ideas for future reference when I can muster up the will to take it to the next level.

I did take another look at it and felt the secondary forms were too weak as well the skin texture wasn't really working so here is the revised version along with some new work. A hardy thanks to Rich Suchy for his amazing materials.

SolidSnakexxx ,zewy, GX@W : Thank you. Stitch is definitely my favorite Disney character and it was a lot of fun doing the expressions.
