Thank you Lateralus for you comment! I'll double check that.
Thanks Mathaeus! It takes cca an hour and a half.
SolidSnakexxx, hey, thank you! The first one had the basic material on it, but this updates has a tweaked silk material.
So here's the final. Sculpted in Zbrush, retopoed in 3d coat and rendered in Keyshot. I've made a switch the usual Rincewind's red robes for these yellow ones, I felt it worked better in this case.
WOW!! That's just awesome!! :tu::tu::tu:
Excellent, really cool to see some Discworld stuff :tu:
That came out nicely. The yellow/violet complementary colors make an interesting combination to his sad and thoughtful gaze. I also like how the eyes look wet and react to the light in a realistic way.
Top Row... excellent work Cherub.
Maybe share your Keyshot methods?.
Thank you so much for all the positive feedback! :)
Here are the material settings for most pieces, and project and render settings. Depending on the size of the mesh, the settings might be changed.
I've made a color correction in photoshop in the end.
Peter, thank you for the tip about importing the highpoly to apply just the color map to, that I did for everything except the clothes which I've decimated for performance and also since the clothes materials don't accept texture maps I had no need to have good uv's on them.
I was pretty happy with how the eyes turned out, so here's how I made them: a polysphere subdivided a couple of times, then painted in a rough iris with plain black which served as a mark to put on a photograph of the iris to a color map in photoshop. Then used the blob brush on the iris to make it pop.
great works
good luck
Wowzers!
Looks really nice !
did you make sss skin in zbrush itself or other software ?
i have just used keyshot for inorganic rendering so dont really have idea about materials
it would be great if you could share some informations :D
thank you
Once again, thank you all! I'm so happy with the love.
I've made the skin in Keyshot by tweaking the implemented skin #2 material. The setting are a few posts up.
It takes an hour to render in keyshot? I thought it was supposed to be fast?
Eyes look fantastic, skin is a bit heavy on the SSS. Is there a way of blending the SSS with a diffuse shader to get richer shadows?
Hey womball! Thanks for your comment. Yes, it takes that long only with translucent materials, and in that case depending on the portion it applied to the mesh occupies. Pobably would be faster on a better computer, maybe for reference to mention I use Intel core quad 2.33, Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti, DDR2 4Gb, Win 7 64bit.
About the combining of the shaders I don't think keyshot can blend two shader into one, and the problem with the SSS (called translucent mat) in Keyshot is that it doesn't support importing a map to isolate areas to be affected by sss, it's sadly the overall effect.
A new one I've started today. Having trouble with the fibermesh, looked okay in Zbrush but looks like this in Keyshot. I've added profile number 2 to them, maybe that's too low? If I increase it though a lot of lagging.
