One of the things we look forward to most each year is the Dominance War competition. Pitting forum across forum across the internet, this annual event by Game Artisans never fails to be truly epic!
As with past years (See Dominance War III & Dominance War IV.), we invite all ZBC members who are participating in this massive contest to post their work at ZBrushCentral. To that end we have created a special sub-forum in the Challenges section. If you have an entry in the competition and are using ZBrush, please share your WIP there! And even if you're not participating, we encourage everyone to visit the forum and cheer on your favorites. This promises to be some truly incredible ZBrush artwork!
2011 appears to be the final year in the Dominance War series, bringing an epic conclusion to the storyline. While in past years the objective has been to design epic creations that might ultimately challenge the gods themselves, the goal for this year is to put everything that has come before to shame... literally. For this year, you must design an original god for the Dominance War universe.

Awesome, I've always enjoyed following DW but never joined one.
It's a shame it's the last Dominance War.
But it started 3 weeks ago.
This would technically be my last chance to join so I wanted to ask: Is it too late to start? Or is it fine so long as I start now and finish within a month which is before May 16th anyhow (coz they need WIPS etc)?
I'll be cheering ZBC members on in any case =) Good luck to all!

Hey Guyz! Man Im Lookinj Forward To This, But, Theres An Issue, Im No Good With Topology, And Can Only Make Base Meshes From Zspheres!!!!

@Ares1979: If you read the rules you will find you must adhere to a certain polygon count. I think it's 12.5k polies maximum, and you must texture the model and present it textured too, using 2k texture maps, so that the UVs for the entire model must fit in 1 map more or less, for game resolution. What you should normally be doing as a result, is build your model in the normal way you're comfortable with (ZSpheres/sculpt etc) with high polygon count, and then you must create a new topology over the dense mesh (for instance using topogun) and then unwrap the new low-poly model for UVs and transfer the details from high poly to low poly for instance using a solution such as xNormal. You can't submit a dense mesh for this contest I think, but you can start with ZSpheres thats fine so long as you create new topology within max poly-count range by the end.
Check out topogun and xnormal if you need, they're strong solutions for such things and are relatively affordable.
hey I'm new here and want to get started with Z brush, so why not just participate in this, even though I have no chance in hell to win this. :D
But there is some details that confuses me. Can I create any type of monster that I want? and what team should I join? can i join any team? :confused:
