Is it possible to disable smooth shading in sculptris? Editing some script, probably?
No and No ... Sculptris hasn't been updated in over a year, and as I understand, there's no real future plans for it either.
I talked to Pixologic at Siggraph and they said Pettersson is working on it and nothing else. The representative didn't know why he doesn't post on the forums. I don't expect them to reveal anything major but the lack of communication is saddening. Sculptris is vaporware. The updated Zbrush has filled all the voids that Sculptris should have. I have no reason to go back and support something even the creator won't acknowledge.
OK,
I thought, what I asked, could be something easy to do.
A flat OGL shader...
Yeah, and you knew better when you asked :evil: You can use a Flat color as a Material, kinda looks like the old Blender 2.4 texture only mode.
No, I mean a flat OGL shader. No smoothed shader please. If this ridiculously old shader is possible.
ZBrush has it, blender has it, any other app possibly has it.
@justadeletedguy
I'm not such a guy. Please. I really need this thing. If it is possible.
You mean Auto-smooth, Edge Smoothing? Usually has a default angle? It's 30° in Blender, 60° in Wings3d but possible to change degrees and/or individual edge hardness. Yes we've had this discussion before. No it's not in the current software, Good Suggestion though! ... The best I've found you can do (with a Quad model) is to spend some time re-triangulating, completely optimizing the geometry. Polycounts like yours, this might take some time ....
