Worked on those hat buttons for this old Union Member of the United Mine Workers.
He has been eating that dirt for a lifetime
Tried to make him have an emotion that reflectes that fact.

#3 Quick experiment using the new Z Brush 3.5 R3 program.
Just quickly capturing a thought...Maybe some kind of AZTEC symbol to be refined and developed further..Skull with feathed headdress and earrings ect...with the heart as a symbol of sacrifice.
3D ZTool...Skull/Heart
Crits, suggestions, opinions, always welcomed and appreceated.

Hi spirit,
i can suggest you to take the last one as a base sketch to create something more professional.
So why don't you try to sketch up more than 3 or 4 different skulls using some references?
Try the same approach with the heart, Zbrush is the perfect tool to create organic parts, so find some real heart images in the net and try to reproduce it.
I think the idea was good enough to go up!!

fracture...THANK YOU for the feedack...Much appreceated and needed.:tu: :)
I don't do much drawing with line these days ..I prefer to rough out my ideas and thoughts directly in 3d sculpture...It's just closer to the way I see and imagine visions...I paint in 2d the same way..no line, just volume.
Originally, I had thought about doing a rendered out realistc human heart for this concept, but decided against it...I remembered what Frazetta said about showing violence in his art...He said something like...It is better to describe what is about to happen than it is to describe the actual event of it happening ..This form of description leaves it up to the viewer to complete the event in their own imagination..:)
A little furher along with this thought.
Crits, Suggestions, and Opinions Always Welcomed and much appreceated.

Another Z Brush doodle..working and sculpting on the dragon as I doodle and figure out ways that he can be used in compositions.
Generally just practicing and learning new things about Z Brush as I go along in this sketchbook...and hopefully evolving into a better Z Brush practicioner than when I started this sketchbook..I guess that time will tell the story on that one..:)
Crits, suggestions, opinions always welcomes.
