Hello everyone, Here is another screenshot from the animated short 'Brutus', In this shot we used Zbrush - Dynamesh to sculpt the trees and clouds. Dynamesh allowed us to make nice smooth shapes that blend together nicely due to the auto-Retopo feature of Dynamesh.

very intersting piece! Great job indeed
What renderer did you use? What is the lighting setup?
Thanks for sharing
That was really cute and well executed. Great job!

very nice.... looks like everything is made out of ginger bread.. !!
Looks greatGerard! Love the colors and shapes!
nebular - Thanks very much, yeah Zbrush was a real lifesaver, I sculpted the entire landscape at the start of the short in just a few hours with it.
Gary Komar - Thanks Gary!
Eiad - Thanks for watching Eiad! We used Vray to render in Maya using a very simple lighting setup, In most cases I used one large 'Rectangle' Light as the sun with lots of little ones for bounce light and the blue light was given off by the skydome.
acornboy - Thanks dude!

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a great day so far, below I have posted some screenshots from Zbrush of the opening scene of 'Brutus' the animated short.
Brutus | Short film
The scene was initially blocked out in Maya to establish the distances and placement of the islands, these were no more than simple cubes which I exported to Zbrush. Once inside Zbrush I used Dynamesh to shape the forms and then used the DamStandard brush to cut rock/cliff shapes into the mesh and the polish brushes to create nice planes.
All the best
Gerard
great animation! it's like a textbook illustration of anticipation.
