There has been a lot of simply fantastic work posted this year so far, but I rank this as the BEST 3d work I've seen in 2008. The idea, composition, colors, mood, textures, render...all amazing.

you repeated that the render setup is nothing special, but I am sure, many of us would be more as happy if you would like to upload us a simple scene file with your mental sss shader as well as the light setup...
as model, a sphere with some depth, curves, or scratches on the surface, so it looks like the crab or some of your other cool renderings...
also interesting the DOF effect, you did in max, or post ?
even if you repaeted that the setup in max isn't somethign special, we all would be really more as happy if you would like to let us see backstage and upload us a simple scene file to explore the fascinating world of simon....
