Hey All. Decided to start a sketchbook finally :D
This guy was a quick sculpt for a friend at work. Thought I would share it here. Hopefully more updates later on, he's still a work in progress.

Omg!
wo~i really like the molding and the details
nice job~:)
Really great design! The base looks a bit empty in my opinion.
I think a few little stones might be nice. Anyways -- wonderful model. :tu::tu::tu::tu::tu: And I can`t wait to see the next update.
Oh wow! I really like this model!
Bravo!
 Oh wow! Beautiful creature! Can't wait to see more updates!!!
what a good sketchbook start :)
Nice detail! :) I love the creature design!
Is there anything special you did as technique to make the scales on the neck and head ?
I can see in some places that you make some hand work, but did you use texture or something else to create and arrange them that good ? ;)
Awesome design mate, love it.
Amazing !!!! Bravo !
awesome, It reminds me of the creature in the 'Host' and a bit of 'Godzilla'
I look forward to seeing more
This is extremely good! :tu:
wow, amazing sculpt man, nice presence to it too. cant wait for the poly painted version, would love to see your sculpt process,
maybe a video some time
I also like the design, its proportions give it a perfect massive feeling. And nice details.
Wow! Thanks for the kind words everyone :D
pimeto: For this piece I used alphas to find shapes I wanted to use on the surface. I think I used about 3 different scale alphas to get what I wanted. Then I would enhance some of those forms by hand using standard brush, polish, or flakes with a round alpha.
Moni-Poroni: I agree with you, the base wasn't thought out very much, I will put some more love into it ^^
This guy was built off another character I did for work that I'm not able to show just yet.
And once I got a concept out of that old base mesh I decided to tweak him around and play with the design more. Most of the sculpting done is in the head area and in small regions of the tentacles, there is a lot I need to do to unify the sculpt's visual language.
Very cool work!!! I like your creatures...
Wow! That lat creature is real scary looking, like love your designs..
Really really cool! I love the concept
Nice! Looks like something that crawled out of the Gulf looking for revenge against Tony Hayward and BP after they dumped all that oil and chemicals into the ocean. Go get 'em, tiger! :tu:
You make good monsters, very origional !!

Sick and awesome!
Thanks again all for the kind words! I worked a bit on this guy tonight. Adjusting his anatomy and making him a fresher base, along with a rough in of his pose! Looking at it I already see some things I will change, but I'm excited to see what ya'll think ^^
So gooooooood! I love the way it's holding its spot in the current, poised...waitng.... awesome! :) :tu::tu::tu::tu:
You models are amazing, I love how you said "a quick sculpt for a friend at work" makes me want to cry that that's the case. Brilliant stuff!
I love it! The design and anatomy are fantastic.
i dig it, nice stuff!
Excellent grasp of organic weight, muscle, skin, and structure. Thanks for posting.
First thing i though of was Godzilla! Awesome concept though! I really love these creatures, keep it coming.
Really cool pose.
Great stuff! Saved to my "awesome art" folder.
Im really liking the designs, cool work. :tu:
havent posted on someones work in a long time, i had to come out of lurk mode to say.
Wow.
I would love to see the design process behind this.
Thanks for all the great feedback and kind words everyone! Glad you guys dig it :D
Here is some progress on this guy. Decided to call him a Hydrodon. I did away with the scales for now just showing the underlaying anatomy. I wanted to make sure that was solid and good to go before I go back to apply the scales and texture.
Also, some cool news! A great guy named Jim Deming over at The Creature Lab http://thecreaturelab.com/ has offered to produce him as a resin kit! Should be available soon, once I get him wrapped up.
Lemme know what you guys think!
Looks awesome man ...surre kit will too
Really cool creature ! The anatomy looks solid to me, since i'm not a giant specialist in this. :) Looks better than the previous version though, especially the ribcage area.
The pose also is excellent, and the face... He seems to be an intelligent yet savage creature. Nice ! And congrats for the resin. :)
Awesome!
surely a kit I wouldn't mind having :D
Lookin really good, love the pose and the sinuous forms, you got real movement in the way he's pushing off that rock. Maybe he should have a couple of big crocodilian teeth sticking out or something, Hydrodon actually means 'Water Tooth'.
Amazing creature !!!
