Thank you! Glad you like it.
To prepare the model for prototyping I use decimation master. Usually I reduce the model to between 10 and 20% of its poly count. Then I export as .stl and send it to the printer (CA Models of Scotland) with an image showing where I want it to be cut. They use Magics so it's easier for them to do it.
Colouring of the bronze is mostly done by the patina artist (Aiya Jordan) at Artworks foundry. She uses a range of chemicals and pigments to achieve the desired result. The only bits that I had to colour were the white squares and white pieces of the chess set which I did with model makers enamel paint.
The 3d printing for this piece was around 10,000 GBP. (15,000 USD). The mould making and bronze casting was around 5,000 GBP. (7,500 USD)
Let me know if there's any more you want any more info.
WoW! excellent !
Your detail is exquisite down to the opposing fingers on the Jester, to the crinkles on his feet , to..... well just about everything.
Weight , balance , rhythm , gesture , detail , I suspect you may be a born natural :-)
Fantastic.
Teach us how to do it? :-)
