Z4 Beta Testing By: Andre Holzmeister
Hello guys, I am really proud of making part of this team, with such great artists! That said, let`s get to it.
Here is my personal rendering of Blanka, I gave him a short haircut with the fibers. I started this model before jumping to Z4, but found it perfect to finish it, I used move elastic to correct some proportions, added a bit of details and used BPR to render some passes, and composed him in Photoshop. Basemesh made in 3ds max
Arthur Knight was started as a Jon Rush class from CGsociety, but for lack of time I did not went too further on him at that time, those clip brushes and shadow box looks like a perfect fit for this character so I decided to finish this guy. I used clip brushes on some of the plates, new Deco brushes to add some detail to him, noise brush to add some deterioration to his armor, and the best feature to finish him is the BPR. The quality of the new z4 renderer is excelent! I composed it in Photoshop! Basemesh made in 3ds max
This is old Sheriff, I made him totally in Z4. I started from Zsketch, and move elastic to get to the base shape, then claytubes, standard brush etc. I created his hat out of Shadowbox, and move topoelastic to get the form. I used my skin texture pack to polypaint him, and to finish I painted his mustashe and hair with fibers shader. Rendered him with sss in BPR (best preview render)
Tip - The fibers shader is not like a hair solution, but it is very powerfull, easy and fun to work with, it has a lack of control in the z axis, so if you wanna bend the flow of the mustache for example, you should create like 3 or 4 diferent shaders with wind forces slightly different from each one, unfortunately after finishing this image i did not had the time to get back and make what I am saying, but I think you get the idea... if you do not make separate shaders with direction of the wind flowing in different angles you will get what I get, the mustache fibers is going all the way down ;) not good
DO you have any wip Images?
Like the Making of pieces (basemesh, shadow box wips, clip brush, etc.)?
