LOL!
Good stuff. Love the skips leg day guy. Cracked me up.
Wow. sorry that posted on the wrong thread. But nice work. skeleton guy is badass. One thing about him. im assuming thats armor hes wearing. Metal armor. its looking a little leathery to me. i think its a combo of the way the scratches/wear and tear are laid down and the material. makes it look more like leather than metal to me. But still really badass. Also checked out the minecraft screenshots. cool stuff.
@SydDevious:
Hey, thanks for the input... you may be right about the armor looking leathery. However, I think that once it's rendered in maya with a metallic material and the textures applied it should look right. I'll have to do up a render and you can see what you think. I have everything ready to be imported into Maya just got sidetracked with the golem lol.
For good reason. golems looking awesome. Ive been meaning to do some hard surface for a while now. Zbrush makes it so fun!
looking forward to updates.
thats a sweet looking robot! :)
great work so far
Here are the Legs for the golem, with a little more love it should be ready to go into a scene of it's own and rendered.
On a separate note, I'm working on the render for the skeleton knight but I still need to adjust the lighting and such... it'll probably be ready tomorrow.
Hey Guys, I don'know if anyone is interested; but I made a matcap version of the iron golem render, and thought I'd share it along with a little explaination...
The renders were originally just done using the standard grey wax matcap, and then tweaked in post using adjustment layers in Photoshop. But I decided that I liked the way it looked, and might actually like a matcap of it to use in Zbrush. if you want to do something like this all you have to do is go into the material pallet in Zbrush, and in the modifiers sub-pallet there is a thumbnail of the matcap. You can take a screengrab of the thumbnail, then take it into Photoshop, apply all of the same adjustments that you would to a final render, then import it back into Zbrush. VoilĂ ! you now have a matcap that looks just like your render without needing to do all the post work. If you wanted, you could even hand paint the thumbnail, or add one of Photoshop's filters.
wait. am i to understand that you can change up a matcap image in photoshop, bring that image into zbrush. and zbrush will adjust the material settings to render like in the image??????? o.0
Correct! :D
Just tried that really quick. I had no idea you could do that. thats pretty awesome!
Inspired by the recent top row War Machine by JGrundfast I wanted to see if I could do the same level of metal detail. I'm not sure if It worked or not. On one hand it doesn't look bad to me, but I don't know if it looks good. Let me know what you guys think.
This isn't related to minecraft, but I thought I'd start posting all work in one thread rather than creating a new thread for each new subject.
I just wanted to show off some of the professional work that I've done. Starting off with a Judge Dredd action figure I worked on. This company that I worked for used stock bodies, and would the make unique heads, and props for each new figure.
On Dredd, I was responsible for creating everything you see in this render (with the exception of the torso and stand which are just for purposes of this render) the clothing was to be made of real cloth.
The parts were made in Maya, and Zbrush, and rendered in Maya Mental Ray.
This is a set of parts I did for a Booker Dewitt figure. Again the torso is just something I whipped up for the render.
These are parts I did for a Dante (Devil May Cry) figure. The head had already been done, and they needed someone to finish off the project.
They asked me to make the guns in such a way that you could actually pull the slide back and remove the magazine.
Also, for this render I tried to use brighter lighting, and made the images smaller, because after looking at it on my smaller screen I thought
the larger images might be too big. Let me know what you think, and which you prefer.
