I've been working on a project in which I have several tentacles to draw. I've been experimenting with several techniques. The technique I am sharing with you here is the one I have decided to use. This is a very basic tentacle. It should give you an insight on where to go with it. A note about the suction cups: I found that the mesh doesn't respond well after such extreme distortion even when dividing and smoothing so I make/stretch the tentacle the way I want it then I create suction cups/hooks seperately and mult-marker them in. It gives much better detail that way. If anyone has any suggestions or their own techniques please post them. Thanks!

Have you tried using the SnakeHookBrush to do the tentacles and then add the suction cups after the modeling. Just a thought. This one looks very good, congratulations !
