Hi all,
I would like to know if there are any tutorials regarding putting a scene together. Examples of what I mean:
a) made character head, want to put eyes in accurately.
b) made character body in pieces and want to put it all together i.e. body, clothes, accessories.
I don't quite get how to do this since once i leave edit mode on an object it is permanently on the canvas. I tried using layers but it didn't work the way I expected it too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tegmo3D.
I've been using zb for a few months so I'm definitely not an authority on anything here. But if you haven't done so already, you want to read up (QuickLinks above) on:
- markers, multimarkers, polymesh
I also found it very weird (and still do to some extent) that you can't edit your model once you've dropped it and selected another tool.
1. Once you've got the basics of the model done (ie. do the head on layer 1, no eyes or teeth yet), SAVE the head and place a MARKER (pointy icon with + sign).
2. Create a 2nd layer and draw the 1st eye. Move it into position on the head. When it's positioned, SAVE the eye tool and place a MARKER for it.
3. Press CAMERA icon to snapshot the 1st eye (ie. copy it) and then use move to position 2nd eye in 2nd orbit of head. Place a MARKER for 2nd eye. Continue this way to add teeth on same or new layer.
4. Now click back on layer 1 (head) and press CLEAR to remove head. Open the head model tool and click on the MARKER for the head and it will be re-drawn. Immediately enter EDIT mode (keeps the head active) and continue to work on the head (ie. model or texture). SAVE your work. The MARKER is already there so you don't have to re-do it.
5. You can go back to the eyes to work on them by clicking on layer 2, clearing it, and clicking on MARKERS for the eyes to re-load them. Just remember to go right into EDIT mode.
Hope this was what you were looking for. Sorry I can't help much with accessories as that's one place (among many) that I'm still having troubles.
Good luck and keep on posting.

i wrote a message about similar stuff an hour before you posted :)) - there you can find tips on alternative ways to merge polymeshes (without multimarkers)
Compiling multi part polymesh characters - UVs, moving mesh parts (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=4&t=001158)
- I used these techniques for characters, but this stuff could be usable to other objects too

And I replied to that thread with this response ;)
Take a look at my annotated zscript in this thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=013708) (page 2, 3rd post) for an easy method to organise your different parts into one polymesh (there's also one on page 1 specifically showing putting eyes in). You still need to use markers to make the polymesh but it makes rearranging the parts easy.
Also, don't forget the new zsphere capability where you can insert other meshes into a zsphere model.
