This is a texture experiment that I did using the simple single layer brush texturing that Pixolator was so gracious to share in his Enchanted Forest (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=005926&p=3) thread. I thought it looked rather neat so I am sharing the results. I used the SingLayer Tool with Freehand Stroke and Alpha #6. I experimented with various brush stroke sizes and ZAdd settings. There was naturally some bleed off the edges of the object but it was easy enough to get rid of it. I simply adjusted the Z depth of the layer by 5 and the bleed disappeared. I am going to experiment more with the method using other alpha brushes.

Excellent results, and so kind of Ofer to share the technique. The way that the skin wrinkles is very striking and believable. Almost like elephant or rhino hide.

I don't understand the single layer brush. Can someone explain the use of it, and how does it differ from the regular paint brush?

BTW, this image rocks! Great job, Lonnie.

Slosh, basically the single layer tool will allow you to paint a single z-depth layer of color/material. Subsequent use of it will paint subsequent layers and it will overlap should you draw over a previous portion that you have already layed down. Just give it a try. I think you will understand if you try it.

Your experimenting came out wonderful. From the background straight threw to the texturing, I also love the reflections!
