I've had something odd happen to me a couple of times. I think I know why it might be happening, but I'm not sure how to undo it when it does happen. Or even if you can. It's easy to forget and have it happen. Okay, so now the details...
I was following the picnic tutorial and I was up to the part where you make the blanket texture and then place and size a plane3d object. It says to turn off MRGB and ZADD and then use Alt-drag to move the blanket around the roots. As soon as I click on the MRGB button, the blanket disappears. At that point, I'm not sure where the blanket went or how to get it back. Sometimes it appears to be just a shadow. Turning MRGB back on doesn't fix it and undo doesn't fix it either. I think this might be happening because I was in move mode and not edit mode. I noticed that after I reread my notes and tried this over and over again. Even shutting down ZBrush and trying it again didn't help when I repeated my same steps. I haven't gotten back to try my theory yet about the edit mode but I should tonight. So how do you get the object back when this happens? Or can't you? The only kind of fix I've been able to come up with is to hit Ctrl+N. Not sure what that does exactly, but I think it might clear the layer.
The same thing happened to me when I tried creating a multimaker object by following the instructions in the manual. As soons as I unchecked MRGB, the object disappeared. I wasn't able to draw a new object either. It was like I was in the middle of something and I need to do something so ZBrush could continue. I don't believe I was in edit mode then either.
