As I'm still very new to ZB I'm trying to achieve some semi-realistic skin tones on my models but still having some trouble dealing with a combination of alpha, texture, material, colour.

I've asked Andreseloy if he would kindly share some tips on how he has achieved the kind of plastic, skin-like quality to his models and hopefully he will be kind enough to provide some input.

If anybody else would be willing to share a few tips about what material, alpha, texture, colour to use to get a start on creating skin, I would be very grateful. I've read many threads on skin and dl'd some materials/textures but I'm still a bit in the dark. Sometimes I don't know whether I'm downloading a jpg or bmp that should be a material or if it should be a texture or an alpha (I know, I'm a dolt).

If it isn't too much of a drag, could somebody give me some tips for setting up a very basic skin-like tone without any real texturing required, I would be so grateful.

I've got the tri- and quad-shaders but haven't a clue how to use them. If someone had some easy instructions on how to set them up for skin, I could try that and experiment from there.

Sorry for long post with nothing in return to offer except thanks.

Thanks Frenchy. I'll keep working on that. Already tried that and I was able to change the colour somewhat (obviously) but it still looks all washed out, too bright. That's because i don't quite know what I'm doing so I might sound kinda' stupid posting about this here.
