When you apply extream detail like skin pores, scales, wrinkles, scars etc. onto a model using say the alpha paint thingy does that have any x,y,z information for normal maps? or is it just a special Zbrush only bump map?

Please let me know! This regards the Half-Life 2 engine and alike!

1.55b supports normal mapping for flattened objects. Check out this thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=011260&p=2).

The next version will also support normal mapping for 3D objects. More information will be available at that time.

so realistically, no not yet. you have to export your high res model and do it in ORB or similar prog.
