I invite you to please share positive experiences, and tell us how to avoid negative ones

This kind of a 'negative' thread will not yield the results you are looking for. Instead, why don't you start a thread that will have a positive impact?

Ask for good experiences and learn how to find a 'good employer'. It will be far more effective than spending your time in avoiding a 'bad employer'.

- Thanks... I'll send you a check. (that never arrives)


Option B

- I think you'll be useful for us, here is the contract, sign here, and there

(read contract twice, sign)

+ Ok, what I have to do? Ok.. I'll start working, as the contract states I need 50% of the payment

(2 weeks later)

+ Hey, I've just finished the model

- Great, let's check it

+ Any modifications?

- Just tweak this, and that.. Yeah! looks great. Please hand me the files

+ Yep... but I need the other 50% : D

ISK-86, thanks for sharing! Yeah I had the same idea, but then the employer arrives and I don't have the guts to propose that because I need the money really bad :D But sometimes (most times) doesn't pay, so you're probably right.

Hopefully your experience will make us more gutsy :)
