very kewl frog Glen. There is an another artist that I checked a book out on a while back, name escapes me, but on the cover of his book it had a little tree frog that he painted....thought it was a photo at first then I read of his techniques in acrylics. snicker..so I got off subject...anyways this little eyecatcher of yours reminded me of his work and that book. Splendidly colored also Glen. Very nice to see this suprise from you. :tu:
yes, but he looks like he could eat something--makes me want to go watch the Discovery channel right now--very cool

Hi !
It seems that little frog has inspired a lot of CG graphists !
Mine was made a few weeks ago and I feel ashamed :o when it compares to yours but it was my first serious try with Zbrush and it was rather a sketch for a toon character than a realistic work (the environment was added later for fun).
http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1042463377jnk.jpg
If I could just add a little critic to your frog (I should not as I even made mistake with the number of fingers of mine :D ) I would have used a less "wart" texture with a more shiny skin and perhaps if the render allows it a few reflexions and some shader tweaking to simulate translucent aspect (all the things I was too lazy to try myself  ).

Your frog anatomy is perfect.
Mine couldn't probably jump half its size with its weird fingers and it's rachitic legs :D
But frog skin itself is hard to do because of its subtle translucency under some lightning.

Sadly I have only one frog to give. This was created and modified from Pixolator's Froggy ZTool. It was done as TextureMaster practice so it is very off anatomically. But at least it somewhat resembles a frog (I hope). The texture was created 100% with TextureMaster.

:qu: :qu: :qu: :qu: :qu: :qu: :qu: :qu:
The bottom left frog is a textured skin of the original zsphere model. The other two are a skin of the same Zsphere model after re-posing it, with the texture from the first applied to them. Notice the errors.
Question: Is there any way to re-apply a texture to a skin after re-posing a zsphere model, or is this a current limitation? Thanks.

Here's my first "real" image out of ZBrush. First try at something using both custom materials and texture master.
All I can say is the ZBrush is absolutely the $#!7! Unreal how cool it is to use. There's no way I could have banged this out with any other software in the time I took on this. And that includes much, much, much futzing around with all kinds of setting etc. just to figure stuff out!

Uh, oh. I modeled my frog from a frog in a magazine, Fauna, which is all about frogs, spiders, and snakes, and has no fauns in it at all. Wierd. I guess I should take mine down, since celebrity frogs these days are so litigious! And I modeled her with no clothes on, which is very bad, or so my lawyer tells me. At least she wasn't a minor, or they'd be calling me a 'tadophile'.

Here is my Toad experiment. I will not work on this till my new PC arrives. My old P4 1.9GHz 2GB had it. Me to 8-). I smoothed the upper teeth.. then I lost patience. Even with everything possible masked the response of the brush climbed into the 15 seconds. No way to work like that. So I plopped the lower row in and gave up on the plan to inflate a nice gum line around the teeth. The render took 28 minutes......

That's a good idea. One of those in the woods without the house. That saves geometry as well....

PS:I already piled upa bunch of toy's which will have to go to ebay for the new monster pc.
PPS:Hmmmmm I lowered the desktop resolution as long as I work on the model and it's alright to work on it regarding the speed. Seems the Pixol's introduce processing overhead galore. I'll ramp it up for the final compoisition...
I was digging up old threads and read this one awhile back and gleaned some good tips from it and a bit of inspiration so thought I would post my own froggy here. Not a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination but a fun couple hours work and an excuse to revitalize this great thread. Frog and shrooms - zbrush (from zspheres) the scene was rendered in Bryce just for giggles, although it got a bit "muddy" with downsizing. Thanks to all... Matt redfrog4.jpg
Built with ZShperes, rigged and rendered in Poser, textured in Photoshop via ZApp Link.

Rigged in poser? didn't knew you could rig also non human stuff in this program, could you spend a couple of words more on the rigging process? If you don't mind of course, otherwise i'll go and search over the net.. :)

you can rig anything in poser. if you have it the manual has some good info. if not go download it from their website.
Ludikastyle,
it's a piece of cake really_ not as sophisticated as a lot of other modelling/rigging solutions but I build all of my poser models in ZBrush now (I specialise in organic natural history models) You can't rig directly in P4 but any of the versions above this you can (ProPak up through to P6).
Here's a link to one of the ZBrush tutorials that demonstrated more eloquently than I could how ZBrush and Poser can be used together to create animateable and morphable characters.
