Thought I would share my progress so far on this WIP. The purpose of this excersise was to create basic ZSphere model that could be re-posed and skinned using low-poly Adaptive skinning. The idea was to use materials and a basic blanket texture to provide most of the detail. That way I could create new poses easily and not have to invest a great amount of time in new textures. The head is a seperate adaptive skin and is an ongoing evlolution........it will most likely change several more times before I find what I am looking for. I have yet to devise the wings for the beastie as well. Once I have completed the final look of the Harpy I will create a scene with several of them in various poses. I will post my texture techniques as well......it took about 10 minutes to texture this image. Most of the time was spent in creating the ZSphere and the pose. Comments are welcome.

I always enjoy seeing you go thru the process of your creations. This one is very imaginative and very well executed so far. :tu:

An truly eccentric piece. Oddly amusing and oddly disturbing. Put Mageret Thatcher's head on that sister and I'll be your puppy.
I prefer the last image. I thought the graphic quality really complements the horror comic feel.

Whoa! Nice job. Outstanding textures can't wait to see your technique. I love the first pics texture.

Oh no, it's Senator Clinton! Grab the children and run! ;)
I like the second one for the pose and feathers, but I would like to see the pebbly scales from the first one added to it.

wow. what a great picture there Mentat!
Thanks for showing the zif setup.
Truly remarkable, really shows off your abilities with ZBrush.
If this is a WIP, then I shudder in anticipation of the finished work.

I agree with all the above - except that my favourite is the second image. :tu: :tu: :tu:
Gave me a bit of a surprise though - I misread the title on the index page as "The Happy Project", so wasn't quite prepared for what emerged! :D
very cool mentat, the feathers are a really great addition :tu: :tu: :tu:
SO!!!! When you showed me this pic earlier, you really were telling the truth that it had not been further modeled. Actually, I believed you then, but it's nice to see the zif version as well.
BTW, this thread needs to have a "Nudity" marker in the title. Not my idea, but since one of the mods put "nudity" on my steam room pic, which only showed the outer edge of a fat lady's ariola on one breast, then these fully swinging mammaries should be flagged. :D Keep in mind, I could not give 2 hoots about such markers, but if mods are going to do it for one image, they should do it for everyone's.

lol Brian! I will go ahead and put the NUDITY disclaimer in the title of the thread. Hope everyone gets used to it...cuz there are going to be several of these flapping fandango fems in the final scene....and all with full exposure of their mammaries of ill repute. :D
Can't believe you had to put the word "NUDITY" in the title before I noticed this thread :D
Awesome second pic. The pose, texturing and especially the feathers are beautiful. :tu: :tu:
Looking forward to more nudity ;)

Great! How on earth did that take 10 minutes to texture?

Wonderful work!! Getting those images out of a ZSphere model is very impressive. I try to use ZSpheres but I am more comfortable with sphere3D and other tools. I just don't seem to get the hang of ZSpheres... Shame really... Lol! :) But my next project calls for ZSpheres so I better get used to them! Again, great work, I don't even find anything missing though I must say the 3rd concept looks great for a close-up but the 2nd image has a great pose. Maybe put them together?
