a fantasy creature made in sculptris, still learning, especially the texturing is not so easy for me, but I guess I will learn that too:)

the lastest try in Sculptris for me, working on the texturing too please let my know what you thinkoldwoman.jpg
You do textures so well, especially the old lady's face. I just haven't got the hang of the texture thing yet. I'll have to trawl the web.

He is one of my favortie fantasy movie creatures and maybe you know him....
not quite finished yet but I liked what I got so farDarkness.jpg
Very cool! The fur is nicely done. :)
I like the detail. Maybe at some point you could make him slightly less symmetrical to give it more realism(?):tu:
Nice works Mermaid! ;)
I really like the old lady. She has wrinkles in all the right spots. I especially like her "fallen in" old peoples mouth. If i may give you a tip; with your next sculpt (if it involves a head) try to really focus on giving the eyes the right spherical volume. Dont be afraid to be rough (use grab) and drag stuff around until it clicks. It will be worth it. :tu:
Keep sculpting. :)

another try in Sculptris. Importet as textured and colord object into Vue 8.5 inf. Final material tweaking done in Vue.
Baumc.jpg
The tree ist great, Mermaidine! :) I like the snakeskin guy, too, though I'd hope for a bit of texture bump for the skin.
I love your mushroom snail. The painting on the alien is done very well. My favourite is the tree. It looks wonderful rendered like that, and the texture is impressive. The sky looks good and I like the haze in the picture, was that intentional?:tu:
mermaidine
09-06-10, 02:24 PM
@ dreamz: yep was intentional.... the haze I mean...lol... was rendered in Vue 8.5 inf.
Made another old woman today, not yet painted so another WIP I guess

I love your tree!!
I was wondering how you imported your textures into Vue?
mermaidine
09-06-10, 02:54 PM
Thanks Celtic, I exportet the bumpmap and the psd file seperaty from Sculptris (click the advanced options in paint modus and you will get the tabs to export bumps and psd) and imported them into Vue. The only problem in Vue is, you have to change the Higlights from black to white when importing obj. from Sculptris, else it will look somewhat strange

Hey youre no slouch at texturing yourself ....looks pretty cool, good work:D
mermaidine
09-06-10, 03:28 PM
Thanks Blue :) still learning but I guess I am getting near it :)
This second old lady looks really promising! Is it me or the forehead might need just a little bit more roundness? It looks just a tiny little bit flat (but it might be the angle / perspective giving me this impression).
I like your tree, it has a really interesting looking shape.
Loving the slug/snail texturing too :tu:

Hi Mermaidine,
nice work with sculptris. I see you' re from Switzerland. I' m from Switzerland to. Do you also work with ZBrush or do you use Sculptris only?
Nice to see that there are other 3D-Artists from Switzerland on this Forum.
Thanks for sharing your 3D-Sculpts, they are nice. How long are you working with 3D? What other Tools do you use?
Thanks again and i hope to hear from you soon...

Great render and environment. High tide on a hazy afternoon I can almost smell the salt air! Just imagine the assets you can generate without having to resort to Cornucopia. I pumped!:tu::tu:

Now that one is coming out quite nicely. Are you going to bend the edges down to make it look like a bed with all of the wrinkles in the sheet or leave it as a plane?
Nice stuff man! I really liked the first monster on page one:tu:
Big Up
Wow! Now that is so beautiful!

another try in Sculptris with painting
soldier.jpgIt's very alive this one.
Hi mermaidine,
the cow is really nice.
What happened with the girl lying on bed?
Is there some progress?
In my opinion still the most attractive sculpture from yours (beside all the funny animal faces which are excellent)
Did you had some probs to get the eye clear on the last one?
Just asking, because I had those probs also when I did the frog.
Keep it coming.

@ Knacki, thanks and yes I had some problems with the eyes, but in this case I like the not clear version, and about the girl on the bed, she is still sleeping, but I guess I will come back to her

Hi Mermaidine :)
Be sure to save that woman on the bed one done on a plane..as it is now.
Just make another version of it to experiment with and push further..Woman on bed #2..That way you won't lose the original, which I really like..:)
I like this newest one also..The baby yawning.:tu: ..A small suggestion ..Maybe make the upper gum line a little thicker, so that it is not mistaken for teeth.:)
Hey Merma,
That baby is well done. Reminds me of some frantic moments looking for a bottle lol
mermaidine
09-27-10, 03:53 AM
@Spirit: thanks...smile... and yep I saved the girl on the bed for further exploration and thanks for the suggestion about the gum
@Tartan: lol...yep normally it is from sleep to HUNGRY in no time...lol

Looks good so far. I suggest refining the sculpt some more .
Use "Pinch" for the horns and the clay+flatten brushes for the
face and neck.
