View Full Version : TriColored Heron
I do not do much modeling, but thought that if I wanted to be a more rounded user of ZBrush I had better start practicing, so that is what I did, this image is a doodle that evolved from that session. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1017115755mbo.jpg

good looking Heron, Joe.....We have the Great Blue Heron's here...other than flying I have never seen one outta the water on land ....When I was a young boy I went hunting with my best friend...and He shot one...the wing span was enormous...looked prehistorical at first....Fear of being caught and fined for shooting it, he got it and hid it under some brush...that large beautiful bird folded up into something the size of a football...Looking back on it now I realize what a terrible crime and waste of nature we committed...You captured one the way it was meant to be...on the canvas....great job Joe!!!!!! :tu:

Having watched your scripts Joe, I think you have been modelling all this time...Watching you run a Snakehook brush convinced me! ;)
That being said, I love this...We have Herons that hang out by the boat, sitting on pilings, and you captured the posture, and the dignity...

Hi DeeVee,
It's a bit hard to tell what portion has been modeled - which tells us that it's unimportant. As long as you are pleased with the results - create as you will!
I like the addition of the texture, has a pleasant feel :tu:
