View Full Version : Seeking head modelling direction

Newcomer to this whole field.
I am interested in learning to model heads
of people from photographs.
Animation and gaming is not an issue.
There seems to be two ways of doing it.
Zspheres and from the sphere primitive.
Can anyone advise me which is ultimately the best?
Also I see large polygon totals mentioned.
What would be considered a reasonble count for a basic head?

Some millions :)
You can do easily (5 millions) with 1 Giga memory :)
So a complete personnage is also possible :cool:
And in Zbrush you can have many objects of 5 Millions polygones :)
Not in the same time but one by one :)
And you can "snap it" on the Canvas for Still image :
