View Full Version : zbrush and Painter
Hello you zbrushers!
I'm still very new to this clever and exiting program. As it sometimes does, what i didn't expect, there is still a steep learning curve for me! This picture was first done in zbrush, then exported to Painter (another of my favorite programs!) and painted all over with chalk.

Welcome to ZBC and nice to meet you as well. You mentioned the learning curve. It isnt that tough. I don't know if you are running the demo or full version, but the zscripts are one of the best ways to learn the program along with checking out the tutorials in the Quicklinks section at the top of site pages. have fun and don't be shy to ask lots of questions. Alot of friendly and helpful talent around here. Nice job on your post here. Just have lots of fun and practice practice practice. :tu: :D :tu:

Welcome AL X from Switzerland! Nice first post. Have you downloaded the manual. Alot
of help there. Just be like a sponge and absorb. I don't think we ever stop learning in Zbrush. Best regards. 50.
Welcome...Nice combination of programs..you will find that ZBrush works well with many painting and modeling programs...Look forward to many sleepless nights as ZBrush is highly addictive :D :D :D
Hi all together!
Thank you for the friendly welcome!
I will practice all the tutorials and scripts i can find (i work with the full version, by the way).
I have the most difficulties with the feeling of depth, with the layers. Is it possible, to make a layer half transparent, to import a scetch on one layer and work on another, which you can see slightly through?
This would be quite helpful. And: Are there any presetted hands and ears to download, so that not everybody has to start from point zero?
I am looking at a lot of your zbrushed works (and downloaded them for studies). The most of you are very clever!
Hope to become as clever too!

thats one nice 1st post, AL X! :tu: :tu:
for using a reference layer, i found great info in this thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=008559)
quite a few models of hands have been shared by zbc-members, and some ears, too, as far as i remember. best to do is doing a search via the above search-link and pick the ones you like best. i am in a hurry right now, let me know if i should point you towards some threads later on :)

Hi andreseloy, hi andel,
Thanks for the ears and transparancy tutorials. I think, i'll just need lots of practice and lots of reading. Until then:
Cheers!
