A few shots of a crisp looking image I have been working on. The girl and the beast are ZSphere models, quite low res really. The heads on each are standard spheres.

I include a test render of the head before I decided that she would be a girl :)

Wauu Glen !!! Simply fantastic !! :D :D
Crikey, why she was stealing it's eggs in the first place is beyond me!
They must make a rare omlette....
Incredible detail, especially on the close-up.
:tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: :)
Very very very nice, the lovely bright colors give an innocent and cheerful mood to the scene. Not like anything I have seen from you.
Wonderful picture :tu: :tu: :tu:

Cool.
I love pictures that tell a story.
I guess she can either run real fast or have some other form of defense. :)

I rendered it at 3000x1800 and used about 6 layers for the project. I used 4 lights, all suns and kept the whole image as light as I could (My work is always so dark)

her eyes, on the final pic.. could you change them to bright blue for me? and make her head twist slightly as if she wants to look at us, leaving her irises to still stare at the beast. I ask this as a personal favour, unless the image is finalized and published.
The shadows are great, as are the scales and her body.
the horn and teeth are spotless (or shall I say spotty)
also, I didn't know you had any relation to the chinese language. Go on, won't you tell us?

Those teeth on that beastie are just beautiful. The spherical blend material has always been in my top 10 most used (and favorite) materials. Great closeup on the upper half of that gal...could we see a close up of her trousers and boots? :tu:

hey glen i love zbreena and here little friend.. but i have a question about her hair.. did you zspher to make it ok another method..
Southern, we all know you're super talented, but this one really shows it off. The dark ones are cool, but with all the light in this one ready to show any flaw... it doesn't. It is super. I think it's nudging my all time favorite of yours out of top spot. (The mother one being my fav)
Ace character work Glen! :tu: :tu: :tu:
Truly something to aspire to someday :  maybe
Wow, hello.. I just have to say you're fantastic with your use of Zbrush. I think my first dabble with using Zbrush was one of your tutorials, the space monkey one and though it didn't quite turn out the way yours did I learned a lot. I see some of your images here and I'm always amazed at the quality of your work, I think I really liked your alien and gun one, it reminded me of Starcraft.
This image is just great, I love the way you got the expression through to your image. It's rare and hard to achieve.
I'm just wondering, did you polymesh the bracers? They don't seem to appear on the mesh.
Great work! :tu: :)

Wonderful!, I think the first image is my fav (the closeup), the monster looks very threatening there  .
I once looked into the eyes of a tiger from a very short distance, it felt enourmously powerful so I can only imagine how this monster would make ye feel =P.

OMG! Such an original work... I really like the contrast between the beast and the girl; she better run fast or something though she doesn't seem to mind the beast at all! :) Full of detail! Awesome! :tu: :tu: :tu:

Hey Glen, :tu: :)
Did you do multiple versions with different arrangements, along with various wireframe shots, as something of a comeback to individuals that are antagonistic towards ZBrush on the grounds that it is a 2.5D toy?
:) If so, good job. :ex:

Heh, heh. It's always frustrating to encounter people who make incredibly ignorant or unfounded statements about a subject of which you have intimate knowledge -- be it ZBrush or some other subject. It's surprising to me how often professional journalists compete closely with certain teenage internet users for the honor of being the most ignorant, in my experience, despite being paid to actually research the subject on which they attempt to report.
Good luck :tu:

hope I didnt miss this Glen? but how long does a large render like that take for you? I am almost scared to try that. Do you render at that large size and then hit the Ctrl 0 to half size it or do you do the antialiasing in another prog like ps or something. I have been playing around with some larger sizes, but I just dont want to crash the computer doing such a humongous render. Any advice in this area? and btw..it's great to see you back and busily active around here...was starting to think ya didn't love us anymore :D

Ron: I find the renders are still very quick until the time I am readt to do the final render and I turn up the RAY count in light panel. Then things can get a bit silly. With these 2000+ images it can take hours for an image with high rays.
But its still *&%$fast to me :)
