ahhh - to my surprise (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=5&t=000814) (yessss, EZ, and i’m gonna make it - el presidente :D) this sunday was free, so i could finally re-z myself this afternoon and here is what zbrush made me do(odle):

http://www.cyber-webs.com/zbrush/beachaxab.jpg

sea was done by first creating a greenish yellow gradient canvas for texture and then using the fabulous alpha century shmoove-move (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=001312) to creare waves from an alpha done from spherebrush with spraystroke and covered with fiberbrush drawn with "continuous orientation" off in picker palette (orientation-icon rotated horizontally). main failed experiment in here imo are the stencilmade shadows of the fronds - i guess i should have stretched/rotated them to make it look better. but, like in the following two, there is a bunch of failed experiments :D

http://www.cyber-webs.com/zbrush/moonlightaxa.jpg

done with the help of four alphas (three customized: a few leafs, the hanging thingies and backgroundtreetops + default alpha) and defaultbrush-2d-drag-rectangle stroke + 2d-snakehook on one layer. at least one more alpha with foliage would have helped the realism a lot - when i wanted to create one to add to the above pic i got distracted and did the below one :D) and the idea to place a pointlight into the monn makes it look like a bulb in some fog.

complete lack of variety but too much fun to do :D

additional 121 welcome, but i doubt i will find time to redo any of them ;)

Regarding the frond shadows, did you turn on the Stencil's wrap mode? That would have caused the shape to bend around the rocks in a more natural way, I think.

Great stuff Hansl, your sea looks very realistic, I guess at the moment you would like to be relaxing by it. :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu:

Great stuff! Excellent sea! I like all of them but my favorite one is the darkest one.. LOL Looks like there's some creatures lurking in the background.. or my eyes are just too tired from zzzing!

Excellent work Jaundel. It is a pleasure to see your art here at Z without having to look in the search :D
I think that very few palms have a uniform color through out the frond the main vein is usually more yellowish in most of the palms I have seen in my travels. That is my only 121. That however does not distract form the excellent work you have done here. just seeing one from you is inspiring. Thanks :) :tu: :tu: :tu:

argh - warpmode would have been perfecto for frond-shadows! thank you so much for remembering me of that one, Matthew - great inspiration for another project (shadows on a wall :)) - i still have to explore the whole continent of stencilia!

DeeVee: not my fault - it was that lazy demon again that made me cheat when texturing the fronds :D :D :D i think it would also be nice to have these frondtools for the further away fronds only and to do the closer ones with separate (single) leaves of different shapes and textures for more realism - but well, the demon...

thank you all for your very nice compliments, i am happy you liked them - wenna and rhom: #2 is my fav as well :) EZ: did you think about this thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=008779)? it was moved into the ZBrush forum a few days ago!

Juju Thanks for the explanation. If you look at the script I wrote. I start with two fronds and then positioned them with the Gyro. I have since used the modifiers Sbend to shape them, it appears to work quite well. It would be nice if you gave it a try, you are always able to add something special to my scripts, so I am hoping you will do the same with this one.
