View Full Version : Unrecoverable Mistake
 This was a different project that went terribly wrong! :D Any comments, criticisms, suggestions? http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads0/user_image-988346414byl.jpg

Ease up gurgler. Criticising every piece that get posted here is going to take the fun out of the forum.
Its not all about the picture, its the participating that matters.

Sorry Upham.....I only do it when people ask....anyway I have been posting too much, I'm at home ill and bored. So i'll leave the posting alone for a while.
Oh no, now I feel bad.
Keep posting gurgler, please.
You're a welcome member to the community!
Don't go!
Sorry Nikko, I've mucked up your thread.
Well, I wake up this morning after posting late last night to find two deleted posts by Gurgler. Hmm, I was expecting to get shredded by him, going by his recent posts. Gurgler, feel free to email me the criticism privately, nikko@neo.rr.com , to keep the nastiness off the board. The criticism is only gonna make me think more and improve.
But really, this pic started out as something completely different, something happened, and I got a bunch of muslti-colored fur artifacts on the forehead, and NO amount of undoing got rid of them. They were shown on layer 2 but came out on layer 1(I cleared layer 2 but they were still there)????? So I did what you see. Better than throwing away hours of work.

Upham...
No need to feel bad...
You did have a good point, and really all my posts actually embarrass me. I sound like a know it all, and some sort of goof. I've never before been one for forums....but I will be a lurkin :)
Doesn't look anything like me Upham ;)

Other than that Nikko, sometimes life's greatest treasures happen by mistake. You may be disappointed with it but to me it has charm and stands pretty well as it is. What you have here has never been before and that is cool. His expression alone can tell a thousand stories, he looks to me like he just got into something really really good.
My eye is not good enough to be able to find the problem area that you describe. Getting artifacts through another layer is weird.
Gurgler, now you are the one being sensitive :) Please don't stop contributing and stop deleting your posts. As mentioned in another post, constructive critisim is welcome here and especially when someone asks for it. Along with that, a bit of caution is required to take in account of the recipient. For instance, most of the things you point out are way above my level, so I need very simple words but regardless of that, discussion on an image and technique is something needed here, so don't go away!
Thanks, Digits. Gurgler, please repost your criticisms. Apart from being a little severe sometimes, they HAVE been right on the money. Your observations would really be appreciated. I really WAS looking forward to a good shredding!
Hi Nikko. Quite frankly, I wish I could do something that good! I REALLY need to spend more time practising!
Cheers

I've seen that guy before Nikko, wasn't he on Survivor or something? ;)

Hi Nikko, I don't see your problem area but I do think he needs the eyelashes you were asking about.
He has a nice warm feel, comfortable to look at. Funny thing, he does look like someone I've met. I rarely get this impression when viewing someone's work.
enjoy

OK, tell the truth. What would you think if you saw a GUY with eyelashes like those in Pixolator's tutorial (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=000089) ?
