Hi, dont worry I checked using the search engine before posting this time Hehe :p

Like I said I just bought ZBrush (woohoo), so the first thing I started doing was to setup the interface the way I like it and saving the preference when I was done. The problem I'm having is that I found that setuping the tablet pressure to only affect in Z and not in x or Y was a lot easier to work with. SO I would set x and y to 0 and leave Z to .75 then save the preferences. But as soon has I'd close Zbrush and reopen it, the Tablet would be right back to .75 for x, y and Z :( is there a way to save those tablet settings ?

The second problem I'm having is when working with 3D object there seems to be a problem with ZBrush using the Tablet settings, when I draw with the previous settings I mentionned; the modelling continues to work by changing the x and y depending on the pressure; as if it was still at 0.75 ... :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

All I can say F, is that I left mine at default and have never had a problem...Why do you find it easier, if you set X and Y to 0? :qu:

HI S ;), Well actually the reason I "Would" find it easier is mostly for modeling, but it's a bit of a guess since it doesn't work right now ;) The reason I think it would be easier, is that even though I have a big brush the detail I get from it is really small, so I have to either make the brush a lot bigger, which is impracticle since then I just have a vague Idea of the true size I will get or I have to lower the amount of z intensity and press hard, which I find, kinda defeats the purpose of the tablet all together. By making X and Y constant I just decide the size of the brush depending on the detail I want to work on, and use my tablet to my hearts contant.

Obviously this is not true for all situations, depending on what I'm modeling, I would sometime like the brush to change size, but not at all times thats all :)

I was just wondering if someone knew of a quick fix :)

Hi :)
FranckyB: You are correct. Currently, the Tablet modifiers are not saved in the preferences-file and while modeling; the tablet pressure is scaled uniformly. These have been added to the list of item to be implemented in the future (possibly in the next update). :)

>>Meanwhile, you can create a preferred-startup-configuration by using ZScripts. Here is how…

1. Start ZBrush.
2. Set your preferred configuration. i.e. set tablet values and any other startup items, such as default tool, default ZBrush document, default background color…
3. When done, stop the ZScript recording and save the recorded ZScript.

To use the recorded ZScript you may choose one of the following options…

1. Manually load and execute the ZScript as needed.
2. Replace the default ZScript with your newly recorded ZScript. This will allow your ZScript to be automatically available at startup; all you need to do is ‘click to execute’ the ZScript as needed.
3. Open the newly recorded ZScript with a text editor and copy the content of the file, then, open the default ZScript and paste the copied text at the beginning (or end) of the default ZScript. This will (similar to #2) allow your ZScript to be automatically available at startup; all you need to do is ‘click to execute’ the ZScript as needed.

Further more, you may record several ‘setup’ ZScripts, such as preferred-modeling-setup, preferred-painting-setup and execute these as needed.

I hope this helps :)
