Is it just me or has a trend been developing here in the forum regarding forum traffic? It seems to me in the last month or so that traffic has slowed immensely. There are over 1400 members but it seems only a small handful actually post comments or anything at all. I for one would like to see or hear from the newer people more often. Let's begin an initiative shall we? Be active in posting comments, questions, and work! That goes for all of you out there lurking in the shadows and for all of the newer people out there who feel they just don't think they have what it takes. That's just wrong- plain and simple. We are a community geared towards the development and understanding of this wonderful thing called ZBrush and art in general. Be brave and forward. Take your mouse or tablet pen in hand. Create! Post your work to inspire others. Ask for guidance and it will be given. I think you will find that few if any here will be judgemental towards you. Don't be shy. We all started somewhere. Be proactive and help this community grow. We really want to hear from you...........Hope to Zee you soon!!

A few points....

1. Loads and loads of people are lurking all the time.
2. It's chinese new year so that lot are all drunk.
3. THere is always a big glut of work post holiday. eg. After Christmas you couldn't get a post in edgeways...everyone was pumping the posts out.
4. Some people register and sod off never to be seen again.
5. Some register and love it so much that they spend all their time ZBrushing and can't spare the time to fini..........

Actually, participation is increasing. In few days ZBC will be reaching 30,000 posts, this means 10,000 posts in less than 2 months, compare this to the previous 10,000 posts which have taken 3 months and the first 10,000 posts have taken 5 months. :)

Mentat7, well said.
Southern, all good points. What with how things go at holiday time: families shunted off to the relatives, or locked in the basement, work ignored, groceries still in the car from, a week ago...

Well, this is my first post. I mainly bought ZBrush for morph/texture work with Poser, so I haven't really made any pics yet with ZBrush, so nothing to post there. I also visit 5 or 6 other forums too (related to my main hobby of Poser, and some trueSpace), so much so that it seems I spend more time using the net than making any art :)

I am definitely a number 5! Thanks for the info ZuZu! It just seems that most of the post are made by the same people. Just think what it would be like if say 25% of the members were posting regularly!!! Can you say NEW SERVER! :D

Hello I'm new to zbrush and I don't have a clue how to post a picture let alone save a picture using the demo version.

I've been reading the tutorials and just going at my own pace.

If someone walks me through how to post a picture. I'll post one even if its amateur(smiles).

hi Amira & welcome! :D

to save a pic in the demo should not be a trouble these days, i think (back then when i was in demomode i had to make screenshots) - export should open a dialogue which will ask you to name the file and choose the folder where you want to save it. the file formats you can choose are .psd or .bmp. these you cant post, so you have to convert them to .jpg format with an app like photoshop or the like. check out the filesize... it should not be more than 200k. then either start your own thread by clicking the "post new topic" button or post your pic into another thread by clicking the reply to button after choosing the thread in question. below the field you type your text into there is an "upload image" button... click... further how-to-dos can be read there! hope this helps! thank you for de-lurking!

Ron, there is a program called PhotoBrush which will allow you to do flares like that.

Hey Ron Harris. I did the lighting effect by transfering the image into photoshop. Then I played around with the lighting effects.

Thanks for giving me feedback. :)

Amira, you should know that you can do the same effects, and a whole pile of others within Z, by rendering, then using Shading Enhancer, highlighting, and other brushes on your image.... ;)
