Hey artists out there,
after exporting a character I made in ZBrush to XSI, I ran into a problem regarding my charcter bieng many objects instead of one. Are there anyone whom has the same problem and hopefully a solution. I tried welding tools in XSI, however, I don't seem to be getting there. In the image I just moved the upper arm, but basicaly every body part on the model is seperate. :( objects instead of object.JPG

you did the character from start to finish in Zbrush THEN exported correct? Did you use sub tools? Also, when you selected "export obj", did you have the merge function selected?

It's an issue with the xsi obj importer, when you run the command import>obj by default you will have in the opening property page the checkbox on "Import as objects", this will import your file detaching all the polygroups as separate meshes, try to change it on the "import as clusters" checkbox and it should fix

pieces2.JPG I tried the merge function and thanks for the tip it made exporting easier, however, it did not solve this problem. What I am trying to do is export an object as one not as devided pieces even though it does export intact. Here is an example of a dog from ZBrush and my character. whenever I select the dog the whole model is selected, but when I select my model it only selects the part I clicked on. Also notice the blue lines on my model, the dog does not have those lines. The lines on my model are the pieces I'm refering to.
