Ello, sorry I completely overlooked the double thread thing. Anyway skipping to the end here's my final post to this bust a move jam.

It was modelled in 3DS Max then sculpted and painted in the brush. The final render was back in max again with a little dash of mental ray.

From the Z brush render I then took it into Photoshop and played with the levels and curves of the image until I was happy with it.
