Well, guess I've decided to enter, albeit a little late!:D
Just Hope I can finish on time!
Started this bust the other day and decided to adapt it for the challenge and do a version of Psylocke.

Thanks guys for the encouragement!
Heres a little update...some on the hands and added hair...not sure how I feel about the hair... Whatcha think?
Thanks for lookin!

nice hair modeling:tu:, i dont know if it screams Psylocke though...maybe if you made it without the pony tail and shortened it to the middle of her back length. Unless you are going with artistic interpretation and a slightly modified look then ignore me!:D

brettSinclair: Thank you sir!...hehe, yeah shes not quite Psylocke without those legs! ;)
EricShawn: Thanks man!
Last small up for the day...trying to wrap my head around physically modeling the psi blades....Heres what I got so far.

Looks nice so far. Hope you plan on making the pose more dynamic. I'd like to see you break up the symmetry.

nice start to psylocke man, someone else mentioned that her hair may be too long and i have the same feeling. also modeling or sculpting rather the psi-blades that come off her hands are going to be tough, i would make them in MAX or another 3d app that has a little more control over the polygons and shape. keep it up man.

A pose test...Not 100 percent happy with it and def need to tweak it but just thought I'd throw it up here and see what y'all thought...
Think I'm going to add her katana in the left hand...
Still deciding between a few ideas for the base...

That's an very interesting face you've created there.

Is the head separate?
How are you planning to mold everything together?

DAnconia: Thanks Man. I took your advice and widened them ever so slightly.
Modeling just about done...still can't decide on a base... I may paint her if I have enough time.
This will prob be the last update before my final.
Again, good luck to everyone! ts been fun!

This is shaping up quite well, the initial pose looked as if she was the figurehead on a ship...the new pose is awesome, what brushes did you use for the hair?
Looking forward to the final product!

Hey, thanks! :)
For the hair, I roughed out the basic volume, then I just used the standard brush to define the main groups of hair, then used clay tubes for the smaller hairs...also using lazy mouse the whole way. Nothin too crazy!

This is shaping up into a fine piece, man. Nice work!

The body looks hot, its just the face thats looking a bit masculine. The main areas are her eyes and brow. Soften out her brow and put her eyes closer together. Her frown should be just a hint. :tu::tu::tu:

Well, here she is... Of course I wish I could keep working on her and I really wanted to paint her but hey, nothings perfect and there's always next time! <img src="http://www.zbrushcentral.com/pixo/atn.gif"> (http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/faq.php?faq=vb_read_and_post#faq_zbc_display_image s)
Wishing everybody good luck in the judging!

Looking very awesome indeed, (Looks better than her statue the x-men did for her in the hall of fame...the cheapskates lol)
Love the new pose and the polypainting looks so good too..was wondering if you had plans to use new uv master plugin then paste the polypainting to the uv's to play with in an external 3d app for rendering,maya,max,c4d etc??
Also just wondering, what is the name of the nice red matcap you used for sculpting psylocke with? red leather, red rubber etc??
good job love it.:D

Well, I think you read my mind! I am absolutely planning on figuring out UV master with her as well as rendering in Max...prob with Mental Ray...
As far as the matcap, it is part of a pack by ralph stumpf available thru Gnomon and it is called BigRed.
Thx for the comments!
