Hy ambient-whisper i just want to say that you have a very special way to get your models...are very impressive in their expression. Is possible to know how you reached that impressive folding in the thorax? I am very curiosly and intrigued how some of you reached this spectacular figures. I have maked a lot of exercise and can not get more o less a good images... I have a lot of modeled head but without bodyˇˇˇ
Congratulations again

Cool beans :) Did you do all of it in Z? Use the beta?

Hi Martin, that's great! Wonderful control of anatomy. Let's see more of this guy! 50.

Really nice work!!
Yeah, I too would like to know if this is beta work.
You know what, I really think it is. Especially considering the mesh generation of the zif...seems cleaner. :tu: :tu: :tu:
Yes AW that is the best thing about zb its really fun and quick to use and in most cases the result at the end is a surprise :)...
nice one BTW

very kewl looking model. Alot of detail and expression of emotion in this so far. I hope you have plans to put him into a full size image. You worked quickly too to get such a fine model. I take my hat off to ya'. :tu:  :tu:

 It's a Gary Coleman from an Altnerate Universe! :D But seriously...I like the way the hands are turning out. The webbing between the fingers is particularly appealing and I am very interested in seeing what you do with those feet.

You got me curious, so I did some testing. I don't think this is beta.
His ultra-clean mesh is just an adaptive skin with a density of 1. You can reproduce it by following the contour from his ZSphere screen capture.
From there, I imagine you'd divide the mesh where needed rather than increase adaptive skin density. But after that, it's back to however you worked best before.
I think the adaptive skinning may be more intuitive this way. More predictable; much closer to your arrangement of ZSPheres. It's almost like you're creating a low-poly unified skin...
Well done! it is always interesting to see the transformation of ZSpheres to finished model! impressive..

Ctrl-Z, let me give you the reason behind my statement. I know about the density 1 setting. I love using it for weapons and well anything else with a hard edge. Its the way his zsphere are generating the mesh. Thats what I noticed. Also, why would he use 1.55b if his job is to beta test...doesn't make sense. There are other factors which I am not going to get into but the only real way we would know is if Ambient came in here and said so himself (I have a good feeling though).
As for you saying subbing is better then density setting...it really doesn't matter save what your end result will be. Make a fork, use density 1 and sub later...make a tree...doesn't matter if you use 1 and sub or if you use 4 first.
Finally, yeah..I could be wrong..lol. Like I said, ball is in Ambients court now.
Yeah, it seemed unlikely that I had figured out something you haven't. But, rebuilding the shape based on his ZSphere screenshot did produce a very similar mesh in 1.55b.
It wasn't exact - the elbows in particular had to be handled differently, but the rest was so close, I just attributed these differences to a gap in my knowledge.
That said, it seemed to create the same number of vertices, just placed where I didn't want 'em. So, rather than adjust the ZSpheres to produce a different adaptive skin, I should have switched over to Draw mode and refined the low-res mesh by hand, as I would in a traditional polygon modeller.
It's an extra minute or two's work, but it'd give us an elegant mesh like this one without waiting for the new version.
That's all I was trying to say, really.
