Cayman Brac is the second largest of the three Cayman Islands. It is the only one that has any hills. All the others are extreamly flat. Grand Cayman where I live has a high point of 65 feet above the sea. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1019833735oyk.jpg

Looks like a great place :)
I thought about trying to paint something like that , but I've only moddeled with Zbrush so far. Do you know any (good) tutorials that could get me started with painting in Z ?

To tell you the truth I just began painting. Then members too numerous to mention would reply and tell me how they thought I could improve my image. That has been a great help.
AURICK has a very good tutorial on painting in his Newbee series LESSON TWO. That is as good as it gets, It is fantastic, it explains ONE of the methods I use, but masterly explained by AURICK. My suggestion is to start with that one and then move on. You will also get a lot of help from members, so do not be afaid to ask questions lots of them, and then check out the QuickLinks.I hope the information given is of help to you.

Hi The Namek,
You can read and download the ZScript Aurick put together not long ago...
It's called Lesson Two - Basic Training, Part One (Painting) (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=004855)

Thanks folks, You know I can already see ways in which I can improve this image. I will do an update and you can let me know what you think.
BTW the Namek, Aurick tells me that the tutorial has been downloaded over 100 times already so it is obviously meeting the need.
Hi Jaime, you are almost as quick on the draw as I am. Thanks again for all your help in the past, a very grateful DeeVee.

beautiful work joe.. love that landscape ...not to sure about the black line in the middle and to the right.. is this a flaw..

DeeVee

Doc, that is where the stone is undercut by constant erosion of the waves, if I am certain that I understand of what you speak. It is cave like so it has to be protrayed as a dark area.
To tell you the truth I am confused. Please show me where on the image these marks are, and I will be in a better position to answer your question.

I see it too. On the bottom picture there is a short black line in the sky just above the horizon line of the ocean on the far right hand side.

Looks like it could be a UFO. :)

The sky is especially inviting in this image. :tu:

Actually, I think I like the first version better. That surf is just beautiful.

Your landscapes are taking on a whole new level now that you're working with a larger canvas. Very nice!

Thanks to you Ron and Aurick, your input means more to me that you will ever know.
I have added a few gulls as suggested, Please give me your thoughts as to which one I should keep for my printer collection. http://www2.zbrushcentral.com/zbc_uploads/user_image-1019845113peq.jpg

Almost looks like you took a picture, blurred it up, added some zbrush greenery a few sea gulls, and some a little bit of spray.

Dont take that the wrong way though, it is very cool. When I saw the thumbnail I was like "why is someone posting actual pictures on the zbrush forum". Very cool, keep it up.

I would like to see a less blurred version though if possible.

That second image is definately the better of the two :) Fantastic work. That water backlash on the shore is fantastic. Remarkable peice :) I'd love to see this one large and framed on a wall. It would look fantastic. It has a great sense of serenity ;)
