View Full Version : Pixolator, can we have the definitive answer on texture, please?

I'm wanting to get a very detailed texture. However after some discussion on this board it seems that a few people have suggested that the mesh resolution is important. I have done some testing and while it is obvious that the texture size is important, I can find no difference that the mesh resolution makes.

Also I notice that a 4096 texture is 48 meg. I was wondering if you could give us some guidlines as to where the point of diminishing returns starts to come in to the picture. Or does the sharpness just keep getting better in direct proportion to the texture size.

For an object that is to be printed out at A4 size at a high resolution what would the ideal texture size be?

And for an object that will be displayed at A4 on a monitor what would the ideal texture size be?
