Hi, the question is pretty much in the title. I was hoping someone could explain what the difference between Next-Gen Modeling and Character Modeling for Film?
I see a lot of tutorials from gnomon and digital tutors and they put them into separate categories.
Thanks for the help!

I could be wrong but I think the difference is next-gen modeling is referring to next-gen game modeling which you still have to get high detail while keeping control over your polycount. Film modeling doesn't worry about poly count as much as game since everything is rendered before viewing.

That's correct, but "next-gen" is a misnomer since it's really referring to current generation consoles - primarily the XBOX 360 and PS3.
