Beginning of the thread here (http://cghub.com/forum/showthread.php?p=24730&posted=1#post24730) .

Little update, did the eyelashes, first pass at skin detail. Still working on the body. Next up finishing the body, and merge it with the face.

Hi Edrice!
entirely good work and I really digg forms in hand/forearm area - its really cool.
But I guess that facial still need some improvements. I recommend you to check this tutorials - http://www.stanprokopenko.com/blog/2009/07/draw-lips/

Finished the base mesh for the hair. Tried to mimic the hair flow from the game captures. Big hair strands are made of boxes that I kept separate to be easier to work with in zbrush. Small hair strands are made with spline converted to editable polys. Did the polygroups on the face should make my life easier, mostly for working on the lips.

Little Wip, did a lot of tweaks everywhere. A lot of work on the face. Started a bit of polypainting.

The face looks a little...I'm not sure. It's either too small, too high up in the face's planar region, or a combination of the two. Not by much, mind you, but she has a definite Rosie O'Donnell facial structure happening. You might want to soften the jawline down a bit in the fascia parotideo masseterica; that might be causing it.

Lol I see what you mean. I'll see what I can do.

Try something like this. I only spent 5 minutes in Photoshop, but you get the idea. Also the texture or shadows are giving her like a 5 o'clock shadow on her face and upper lip. (Not Rosie....Kurt Russel in drag) LOL. Looks good otherwise!! ;)

Bigger lips and eyes/eyebrows, narrowed jawline, thinner nose. Raised the face and enlarged it a little. Hope it helps...

Hey Hyde thanks for the input. I'm not going to follow you to much on this one. You're giving me pointers on how to achieve a more feminine model, when I'm trying to get some likeness.

Actually, if you go here:

http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/masseffect/images/thumb/6/60/Miranda_ME2.png/704px-Miranda_ME2.png

You'll see that she does have much larger lips, eyes, and eyebrows. Her nose, from what I can see, is okay in the original Rosie-esque picture, but the rest of her features needed to be enlarged or toned down to accommodate it. Sorry for the link instead of a picture, but I'm at work and can't convert .png to .jpg with MS Paint. When I get home I'll try to do this up a little better.

Hey, thanks for the backup Losgunn. I agree with you, in retrospect the nose should be a little bigger than the one I did, but I think edrice's version is a little too bulbous still, which makes it look bigger from the front view. I like the work, but someones likeness can get thrown-off so much by just one single element being off.

Did a quick comparison shot of my model against one of my ref image, so everyone has a clear comparison. The guys at bioware did make her lips bigger in the game, but I think it's to fit better with other characters in game.

Did some changes to the face based on the comparison shot.
And started working on the pose. I wanted to do something that reflects the changes made to the gameplay, I went with cover and squad commands. It's a first draft but I'm pretty happy with it. Going back to the t-pose now that I know where I'm going.

Finished the t-pose work. From now on I'll work on the posed model.

I'm so addicted to Mass Effect 2 at the moment and i constantly find myself panning around the characters, just admiring the modeling work.
Your representation of Miranda is shaping up beautifully. Love the clothing work and the face has come a long way and looks great!

Continued working on the posed model, fixing things and so on.
Did a little 3dsmax render test with exported level 4 meshes.

It's turning out wonderfully. That jaw is still bugging me a little, and I'd like to see a bit more differentiation between the matcaps of the suit and the skin, but all in all a great piece. What kind of treatment are you planning for the hair?

This is awesome! I was hoping to see some community-made Mass Effect 2 characters.. I actually started modelling Mordin Solus. I found some cheat thing that lets you ghost around and I've been using that to capture screens of all the characters

@Losgunn : Thanks! I softened the jawline since my last post, hopefully it will stop bugging people. When I'm done sclupting I'll work on the textures and shaders, it should look a lot better. I'm going to refine the hair but nothing too fancy.(hair is my weakness).

@beach07 : I didn't know you could cheat in ME2, I couldn't get the console working, it would have useful earlier on. I'll be sure to check your model if you post it.

Okay so I scaled down the pillar so it doesn't cover as much. Softened the jawline, shortened the pinky(a lot but still feels wrong), worked on the texturing of the arms, and fixes all around.

Thanks for the kind comments!

Did a new hair pass, tried to fixed the arm, gave it back some volume and made it push the right breast, amongst other tweaks. Did the texture for the shirt and arms.

Looking good:tu:
Right shoulder to elbow looks off, not sure why. Face looks great very real feeling forms.

The distance from the right shoulder to the elbow is way to long, that is why it looks weird, bring that arm in a bit and it will be a little more anatomically correct.

Hey Edrice,
Nice work so far I like it.. My only crit is the arms, since this girl is fit and toned and clearly athletic.. her arms are both up which is flexing her biceps. I know shes not a body builder but shes wearing tight clothing so I think you could show a bit more shape in that area for both arms.. I did a quick paint over just to share my thoughts. gl take care

Thanks for your input guys(especially for the paint over) I'll sort those things out next time I work on the model. Just to be sure we understand the same thing, do you guys mean her right shoulder, or the shoulder on the right?

edrice

Little update, mostly to the arms, corrected elbow positions and added muscles form.

Amazing work! Such quality and detail, her face is beginning to look more like Miranda now.
