Depth Cue is basicly pointless on big images. I know how to use it, (set both depth points in the image) I can get it to work on small (600 px wide) images. The problem is that on big ones (3000 wide) it doesn't really blur the background at all even if I have the sliders maxed out. I have to go in and do it with photoshop afterwards. I think an easy update for version 1.6 would be to increase the strength of the Depth Cue.

Have you seen this thread (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=011637)?

Someone on that other post said, "It also helps to increase the "blur size" value in the anti-aliasing menu of the render pallette to increase the intensity of the depth cue."

Should I take this to mean that the "blur size" in the AA menu only affects the Depth Cue's blured areas and NOT the rest of the canvas?

Thanks,

Shaun

Unless I'm wrong, I believe Blur Size affects the whole canvas if depth cue is turned off, but it affects only the parts of the canvas affected by depth cue if depth cue is turned on.

Check out the tutorial I did a while ago:

DOF Tutorial (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=010458)

Use Photoshop for near infinate adjustability of DOF effects.

The blur size did the trick! Why is that slider under the AA menu and not the Depth Cue menu?

Thanks for all the help,

Shaun
