Greetings from a lurker

Ok, I've been lurking long enough. I've bought the full version of Zbrush after months of playing with the demo on and off. So it seems only right that I register to this forum too - it HAS to be the most helpful and friendly forum I've ever come across.

I'd like to say thanks in particular to Southern, Ken Brilliant and Pixolator for boosting my enthusisam for computer art just when I was starting to get bored with it all! (I've used Truespace, Cinema 4D, Imagine (on the Amiga) etc in the past)

By the way, anyone know when the update with GI is going to arrive. The wait is agony!! :)

Hi Ron,
Thanks for the welcome. GI = Global Illumination, as demostrated by Pixolator around Christmas. The effect is has on images is outstanding. I don't know whether it is true GI as used by the Arnold renderer, or whether it's faked - and I don't care! I just want to play with it!

According to Pixolator in this thread Preview of a new ZBrush modelling tool (http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=005177) the next version of ZBrush should be ready "in several weeks".
