Edit: i used the multimarker tool a ton in this pic. each of the little people are polymeshes, the crane is a polymesh, so it the hoverplatform and the storage building. over on the left there are two little speeders and one down near the storage building - they are polymeshes. i'll post another pic soon that has close ups of the crane and transport speeder.
Wow J thats really impressive, are those little people models?
The background is amazing, fantastic use of colour, all in all very accomplished piece of work!!! :D :tu: x 1000

absolutely wowzers, josh!!! the terrain is fantastico (mountains as well as the minebottom steps and terraces), the machinery is great and the modelled figurines... :tu: :tu: :tu: beside of adding mayhaps a lil heat below the hover-thingie my only request would be: loads of close-ups, s’il vous plait! :D + :tu: :tu: :tu: :tu: etc.

WOW!! This is really a detailed pic, I love it of course! Everything is absolutely fantastic!! Can't wait for the other pics!
So what size did you work on this one at? It had to have been pretty darned big to get so much crammed into it. Great job!

Hey jibberish this is a fun image, lots of little details to find. It may just be my monitor but it seems a bit too dark. I look forward to seeing the other images you have planned in this series.

Thats awesome and brilliant iamge. I would love to see that printed out to a massive size on a wall. Excellent image.
If I could possibly suggest one thing to you however. The terrain looks a little flat at times. Try playing with a very low amount of fog when you render. You may like the results.

thanks for all the comments everyone...
impending, for some reason, i make just about all my images dark...i'll try lightening it up when i redo it (putting in all these great suggestions).
Caliban, thanks for the tip.
here are some zoom ins and stuff. the zoom ins are the size of the original document. these are the two people i used for the slaves.

Thanks for the zoomed in view, Jib! That is very efficient modelling technique, because the detail fits the use so well...The scene is a little dark, but it adds a bit of mystery to the image...I'm not sure I would put fog into this unless you used a custom alpha for it...The 'deserty' feel works for the premise of your design, I think...

This really grabbed my attention. So much to see, enjoy and take in.
LOVE it. :tu:
WoW impressive work :) :tu: :) , must of took a lot of patience to position all the characters.
This turned out awesome! Ditto on the comment about the steps and everthing. This picture looks massive, definitely captures the feeling of a huge underground mining colony.
