He's pretty calm about holding that thing, but I guess he's handled it before.
THe alien was easy, but the glowing sphere took some experimenting. I painted a simple pattern on a black sphere, converted that to a texture, then turned on Transparent (under textures)--which makes all the black areas clear. A healthy glow material helped with the rest.

!!!WoW!!! nice pic....... :tu: :tu:
Hope to seeeeee more of your work :)
Nice work on this one. The ambient light has me intrigued. Did the glow from the ball automaticaly intigrate with the rest of the picture? Like we see on his chest and stomach? :tu: :tu: :tu:
"Who ordered the plutonium meatball?" This is cool, I love this kind of stuff :tu:

wow! incredible...Ken, you always have really realistic lighting on all your pics...how do you do it? do you paint some of the light on the figure?

The glow material doesn't actually give off any light, so I placed a point light near the chest to simulate the effect. On another layer, I also drew a soft glow ring enlarge the apparent radius.
This scene used 4 lights, main(greenish)sun, a point near the body(green), a yellow radial and a bluish sun for fill. This is the most amount I have ever used in ZB.
In most images, I do end up "painting" or enhancing the lighting with other ZB brushes such as highlight, but this one I didn't touch.
It does look like he is making some sort of interstellar UPS delivery...
I love this piece! Thanks for the tips on the layers and lights.. I can use any other tips in those areas that you would like to share.. :D again, a fantastic piece!
